'Love Amidst the Flames of War' unfolds during the Song Dynasty, amidst a nation gripped by conflict. At its heart stands the illustrious "Yang–She" family, whose loyalty, love and devotion to their homeland define their destiny. Through the union and moral struggles of General Yang Jiye and Lady She Saihua, the story explores how personal fate is inextricably bound to the destiny of the nation during times of upheaval.

This production seeks to rekindle the timeless virtues that lie at the heart of traditional Chinese opera—loyalty, filial piety, integrity and self-sacrifice. It reminds us that even in a modern age, art continues to illuminate the enduring belief that "the family is the root of the nation and the nation is the extension of the family". Through expressive performances and stylised movements, Love Amidst the Flames of War celebrates the enduring vitality of the Chinese spirit and the cultural values that have guided generations.

剧情简介

上海越剧《烽火姻缘》以宋朝时期的家国大义为背景，通过"杨佘"世家的家族姻缘与忠义抉择，展现中华文化中深厚的家国情怀与正直精神。故事中，佘赛花与杨继业在乱世中结下良缘，不仅象征个人情感的相依，更寓意在国家动荡之际，个人命运与民族命运紧密相连、共荣共存。

作品希望观众能重新体悟传统戏曲中所蕴含的忠孝、节义、诚信与牺牲等核心价值，提醒我们在现代社会中，依然可以通过艺术去感受"家是国之根，国是家的延伸"的文化信念。通过戏曲的唱、念、做、打与舞台表现，传承并弘扬中华民族的精神底色，让古老的价值在当代舞台上焕发新光。
